People with Ornithophobia need love too!

Today I needed to go into a building I had just visited last week to complete pre-employment testing. As I was driving thru the parking lot, I noticed a statue of a peacock. I said to myself “Self I don’t remember that being there last week”

Then the darn thing moved!

I called my son to see if he’d come by and move the peacock away from the building’s entrance. He gave a very, very lame excuse. He’s working in the Woodlands. I really don’t understand why he didn’t pack up his crew, leave the Woodlands, drive the darned 65 miles and rescue me!!! I was being held hostage in my car by a bird for goodness sake! He told me to find someone, explain that I’d been terribly frightened by a bird when I was a preschooler, and ask them to walk me in the building. He was laughing as he said this. Hmmph!!! 23 hours of labor and all I get is a smart aleck!

I then called my disabled mom in New York who told me the same thing. She was there was laughter in her voice as well. What good is family when they don’t come to your rescue?

Finally, someone walked me past the peacock, which had moved from the entrance to a corner I had to come around. If I had turned that corner and came face to face with a peacock, the lab would have had to get their specimen by wringing out my underwear!

I can still hear my (used to be wonderful) sister/girlfriend laughing in my ear. She says the gouges I left in her arm 3 years ago when I spotted a million pigeons in the Pappadeaux’ parking lot are just beginning to heal. My other good friend explained that she couldn’t come because she rode public transportation today, and now she needed to explain to her seat mate why she was laughing hysterically!

Princess

It's 230 am and I'm up with baby dog. She has colitis, and it's acting up. I worry about her, she's 11 years old. As you recall her Mom, the Bear, passed on March 1, and to be honest,I'm not ready to lose her too.

She's sleeping comfortably now, and hopefully the imodium will help. It's my fault for leaving a pack of fudge cookies on the bed. She's got a sweet tooth, and as you know chocolate and dogs don't mix.

UGH, I feel so bad for her.

8 months and still adorable

Blessed again!

I am so very, very blessed

Three months ago, I walked away from a job that I disliked, and which was bad for my physical and mental health.

I walked out on faith that I would find something to replace the job without all the drama. Today I did. I’m so over the moon because after the interview, I figured that another bites the dust. Imagine my surprise when I was offered the job. I couldn't believe it. In fact after I hung up with the HR person, I just sat and shook. Then I called my Mom! My 2 best friends, text my brother and tried to catch up with my son. I also posted it on the list I’ve been part of for over 12 years.

I was so overwhelmed at the happiness each person expressed for me. It humbled me once again, to behold God’s benevolence. Having so many people who love, support, cry and rejoice with me, is something I never take for granted.

I wish for each of you who read my blog, to experience just an iota of my blessings in your life.

I took Fuss to church today

It's the first time she's been, other than a wedding.  It was actually a great experience.  She's very inquisitive so all the people kept her captivated for a good 40 minutes.  It was when the Pastor said "Let Us Pray" that she decided to give her impressions of everything she had seen.  Loudly!!!!  "Badadadadadadadadada".  Next week, we'll try the church nursery.

Be blessed,
